Sarah and I did 6 sessions together last spring focusing on pelvic health and returning to self postpartum. I experienced a pretty serious health scare and was looking for people who could help me heal. I was reminded that healing most often happens in relationship. My weekly sessions with Sarah were a space of co-regulation, an opportunity to come back to myself during the business of motherhood in a space that was nurtured by someone who cares a lot.

The first a-ha moment I had was realizing I wanted to tell all my friends about how wonderful the session was. I knew I had found something good that needed to be shared. Another big takeaway was that the workouts I had been doing for myself were not helping me heal postpartum. They were too intense and not targeting the specific muscles I needed to strengthen. Sarah’s sessions didn’t make me sweat, but I was sore the next day exactly where I needed to be.

It was exactly what I needed at that period of my life to feel good in my body again. Sarah’s care, compassion, and knowledge about the human body went far beyond my expectations. Sarah was very clear in her explanation and offered extensive follow-up summaries of every session. The meditation at the beginning and end of each session offered a rich landscape for my imagination to explore my inner world in a new way.

Sarah, you’re so caring and compassionate and thorough. You offer a different take on traditional western yoga practices that emphasize specific knowledge of movement and the body for healing, with a postpartum expertise. You prioritize consent and autonomy. I really enjoyed our time together. I am so excited to come to your sessions this winter and for the rest of Fort Smith to benefit!

I attended my first yoga class on Saturday, feeling hesitant and low on energy, both physically and mentally. I wasn’t sure I’d be up for trying something new, especially in a group setting. But from the moment I walked in, Sarah created a warm, welcoming atmosphere that put me at ease. Her kind and caring approach helped me feel comfortable right away, and by the end of the class, I had a huge smile on my face.

One unexpected benefit was how much better I felt with my asthma. The class focused on gentle movements and stretches that opened up my chest, helping me breathe more deeply and freely. It was incredible to feel that relief in my breathing, which lasted long after the class ended. A few hours later, I realized the full impact - not only was my mood lifted and my energy renewed, but my chest felt open and light, and I couldn’t stop smiling.

I’m already looking forward to my next class and can’t believe how much better I feel. Highly recommend this experience to anyone, even if you’re feeling hesitant. It was truly uplifting.

New Den Friend :)

I have been active as an athlete and coach all of my life in Nordic sports, aquatics, paddling, hiking and gymnastics. Now at 74, I have bone-on-bone arthritis and piercing pain in my joints. Everything aches. At this time last year, I was unable to participate in things I loved such as skiing, swimming, and long-distance walking. Even getting up from a chair hurt. Sarah’s sessions at The Den are making a difference. From the moment I walk through the door into the calm, safe space she has created, I feel good. Sarah is non-judgmental, inclusive and attentive. She notices if someone needs extra help or covers them with a blanket if they appear cold. Like a mother bear. After my first session, I felt stretched out, relaxed and calm both physically and emotionally. I sleep better, have more energy and am happier. Thanks to Sarah for her knowledge, compassion and welcoming all of us into The Den.
